Cognos8.4以后（含量8.4)无powerplay?
有人询问cognos8.4以后咱不见了powerplay组件踪影，我也一直在仔细玩味为何基本软件中不再提供PowerPlay?现贴出自己的一点感受。
由于模块Analysis Studio，提供纯浏览器的高级分析功能。Analysis Studio不仅可以像以前的PowerPlay那样访问OLAP数据源，还可以像PowerPlay那样方式访问通过多维建模的关系型数据源。其实也可借助Cognos TM1读取olap(当然TM1强项是做管理用的，主要运于预算，如资金预算、销售预算等方面）。所以，PowerPlay就可有可无。基本上购买的基本组件不包含这个东东了。

Cognos 10 still supports PowerPlay Studio and PowerPlay Client for Windows; the thing is you will have to licence it separately.
PowerPlay Studio is more powerful than Analysis Stuido, even though PowerPlay Studio only supports PowerCubes. Remember that PowerPlay was, is, and will be the best part of Cognos. If you know how to play hockey, you know what "power play" means.

同意楼主的看法 powerplay是以前老版本的东西 现在8已经没有了 cognos10更没有了 cognos增加了新的模块 就是融合了SPSS这个功能 不过还没用过收起
