GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This is a key role working for a software house responsible for the delivery and support of a large number of high profile E-Commerce/J2EE applications. We are looking for individuals with excellent technical ability looking to make their mark in a diverse and expanding team.  The challenges you will face include different architectures, application components and their interaction.   You will also be involved in the support of projects during Development, Test and Production Implementation.
 
ROLE
Assist, configure, deploy, tune and support live or “to be live” customer systems of multiple Websphere Commerce/J2EE Applications and associated components with specific focus on performance testing and capacity reviews.  
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Candidates need to understand architecture and performance tuning in a web multi-tiered environment and have knowledge across the following:
·   Linux
·   IBM Websphere Application Server
·   IBM DB2 performance tuning, SQL,
·   Internet protocols (HTTP/HTTPS)
·   Java1.6 SDK and Sun/IBM runtime
·   Capacity planning and performance testing
·   Performance problem determination and root cause analysis
 
Additional desirable Skills
·   AIX, Windows
·   Tomcat, JBoss
·   Oracle performance tuning
·   Java profiling, ability to review java source code and recommend optimisations
·   Javascript,  Jython, shell script, awk, perl
·   IBM Websphere Commerce
 
The successful candidate will be working as part of a highly skilled technical team with a key focus on delivering solutions that meet and monitor key performance metrics for high volume ecommerce sites
 
It will also be necessary for the candidate to be dealing with hosting companies and end clients as well as Salmon development staff.
