Resolving the problem
When large data files are imported into the tables of a database, using IMPORT command, the performance is slow.
CauseDB2 traces show, that a lot of time is being spent in the following function:
71456 (7 sec, 625227107 nanosec) sqluhReadEntry
This
indicates that a lot of time is being spent in reading the history file, perhaps
due to its size.
IMPORT of large data files, results in extensive logging
activity, and thus history file is read to determine, what all objects would be
needed for recovery.
History file could be pruned to improve the performance of IMPORT command.
