| Check the Summary area of the Recovery Guru to see if there is a Loss Of Path Redundancy failure being reported. If this failure is being reported, fix it first before going to step 2. |
| Select the Advanced >> Troubleshooting >> Collect All Support Data pull-down menu option from the Subsystem Management Window (AMW). In the Specify filename field, enter a name for the file to be saved or browse to a previously saved file if you want to overwrite an existing file. Use the convention "filename.zip" for the name of the file. (The suffix .zip will be added to the file automatically if you do not specify one.) You may also specify another drive and directory if you want to save the file in a location other than the default. Note: The Start button will be unavailable until a filename is specified. |
| Select Start. The Execution summary box updates automatically to show the status of each support file as it is gathered. A progress bar at the bottom of the dialogue shows the progress of the gather support data operation. |
| Select Save As to save the compressed file. |
| If the reason for the degraded drive channel in the Recovery Guru Details area is "Manually set", go to step 7. |
| Contact your technical support representative and indicate that a "Degraded Drive Channel" problem is being reported. Send your representative the file you saved in step 4 and wait for further instruction. |
| If after consultation with a technical support representative or the person who manually set the drive channel status to Degraded, you believe the drive channel is operating properly, you may choose to manually set the drive channel status to Optimal. Select the Advanced >> Troubleshooting >> Drive Channels pull-down menu option, then select the degraded drive channel and click the Set Optimal button. Note: The drive channel status may automatically be reset to Degraded if the controller again determines that the channel is not operating properly. |
| Select Recheck to rerun the Recovery Guru to ensure that the failure has been fixed. |
