Cognos Business Intelligence 10.2.1 Fix Pack 1 provides important product corrections and should be applied to all installations. When upgrading from IBM Cognos BI 10.2.1 to IBM Cognos BI 10.2.1 FP1, a report specification upgrade is required - there is a tech note available for this.
The backups that are created during the installation of Cognos Business Intelligence 10.2.1 Fix Pack 1 are located in the bkp folder of the Cognos installation directory. Previously these backups were stored in ../uninstall/backup/.
Cognos Business Intelligence 10.2.1 Fix Pack 1 also provides new functionality and conformance updates:
Extensible visualization available for general reporting
General improvements in reporting including visualization library improvements and dynamic report booklets
General improvements in Cognos Workspace including embeddable and customizable workspaces, more control over widgets, tabs, toolbars and global areas, new recommended visualizations and improved printing
Theme Designer including Support from within Cognos Workspace
Dynamic Cube API
