Not every one possesses the tuning skills.
Typically in a large shop, there should be some in-house tuning guy(s).
Otherwise, you have to seek outside resources.
I do manage 1000+ databases by myself, and regularly collect necessary performance data

In your case, if he does not have much tuning experiences, but he can
1) make sure no CPU/Memory/Disk IO starvation
2) make sure no heavy duty/long running SQL(s) hitting the database,
he can pretty much rule out db issue.收起

     客户才不会管这些，表面现象是数据库慢，你不能光证明数据库是没有问题的，得找出来是那块出现问题引起的，这个就要求dba的技术全面一些，不能只懂db2,
你说的那些数据远远不够，例如，月初，中，末 的nmon数据非常重要，不同时段的性能表现是不一样的（性能基线我们一般就收个nmon ，基本就够了）收起

简单讲讲我自己的经验。
我在服务过的大大小小公司是所谓的tuning guy。 Tune了真是不少的系统。
因为是公司内部吗， 一般不需present什么细致的数字， 只要把问题搞定就是。
另外，懂tuning的真不多， 你说啥就是啥了。
以前我也做过performace tuning consultant， 是要deal with client的。
除了解决问题， 也要给分析报告和给数字的。
列列： short term， mid term， long term 该做什么。
就这些吧。
