Please check that your host is correctly mapped with alias name , ie you can go to /etc/hosts and check that your physical host is defined there or not.
The HANA Studio connects to HANA DB Instance with JDBC on port 3<Instance number>15.
For your HDB with Instance Number 40, the port would be 34015.
I think that this might be the issue . Please check with OS team that your host is pinging with IP and alias(physical name)
